How to make your vagina smell better

Vagina odor can be very embarrassing, especially If you have a partner.

You may find that your vaginal odor increases after intercourse particularly if your partner ejaculates inside your vaginal. This is because your partner’s semen, added to your own vaginal fluids create a malodorous cocktail that can increase the smell. If you have this problem, consider using condoms if you are not planning to conceive.

How Can You Make Your Vagina/Vulva Smell Better

  • Don’t wear tight-fitting clothing and panties made with man-made fibers: All-cotton panties should be the staple of your wardrobe (they may not look as cute as silk thongs, but your vagina will thank you if you wear cotton panties every day, and save the silky thongs for a date). Ditto, ditch the tight jeans; they may look cool, but they will make your vagina sweat, causing a build-up of bacteria and the pH factor of your vagina to become imbalanced.
  • Always wipe front-to-back: Avoid the spread of rectal bacteria.
  • Change all panty-liners, pads, and tampons regularly: Even if you don’t think they need it, change your pads, panty-liners, and tampons every couple of hours. Doing so prevents the build-up of bacteria.
  • Occasionally use baby-wipes when you’ve been to the toilet: Unfragranced baby-wipes are the perfect cleansing product to use when you’ve been to the toilet. They will cleanse away any additional bacteria and are gentle on the skin of the vulva.
  • Try Apple Cider Vinegar: To re-balance the pH of your vagina and improve the odor, pour two or three cups of apple cider vinegar into a warm bath and enjoy a long soak. Apple cider vinegar is great for improving the natural acidity of the vagina and is a brilliant anti-bacterial agent.
  • Clean with unscented soap and water: Floral soaps are not your vagina’s friend. Clean your vulva with a mild, unscented anti-allergenic soap and warm water, no less than once a day. Don’t just cleanse the mons pubis; make sure you cleanse the folds of your labia.
  • Try a clove of garlic: No, this isn’t in the wrong section. Take a clove of garlic, wrap it up in cheesecloth and attach a string for removal, and insert it into the vagina. If that thought makes your eyes water, try making a garlic paste and applying it externally (DO NOT put garlic paste into the vagina). Garlic has anti-fungal properties, making it beneficial in the treatment of vaginal odor.
  • Change your underwear every day: That’s all I’m going to say.
