Babysitter charged with murder of 2-year-old in her care

A babysitter in Georgia, Kirstie Flood, 29, has been charged with the murder of a 2-year-old in her care, police authorities have revealed.


According to police, Emergency workers responded to a call regarding an unresponsive child at an apartment in Sandy Springs on Dec. 9, and the toddler was rushed to an Atlanta hospital where she was pronounced dead.


Kirstie Flood was arrested after a homicide investigation, according to the Sandy Springs Police Department.


An autopsy indicated the child suffered severe wounds that caused her death, and name of the victim was not released by officials due to her age..


Flood faces two counts of felony murder and counts of malice murder, aggravated murder and first-degree cruelty to children, police have revealed.
